Overview
You will own psychiatric care for adult and child/adolescent patients at LifeStance Health's Southport clinic, delivering medication management and therapy in a fully supported outpatient setting. You'll join a collegial team of PMHNP-BCs and psychiatrists, backed by full-time billers, schedulers, and modern offices. This role offers Full-Time or Part-Time schedules with a W2 fee-for-service model, 4% match 401k, and paid parental leave. What You'll Do8
- 1Evaluate and diagnose psychiatric conditions in patients using DSM-5 criteria, then prescribe and manage psychotropic medications within 90 days of start.
- 2Build and maintain a caseload of 20-25 patients per week, balancing medication management and brief therapy sessions.
- 3Collaborate with therapists and psychiatrists on complex cases, sharing insights for integrated care plans.
- 4Document all patient interactions in EPIC EHR, ensuring accurate and timely records for billing and compliance.
- 5Educate patients and families on medication options, side effects, and adherence strategies.
- 6Participate in weekly case conferences and peer review to sharpen clinical judgment and stay current on best practices.
- 7Manage your own schedule to meet productivity goals, with dedicated admin time for notes and calls.
- 8Respond to patient portal messages and phone calls within 24 hours, coordinating care with the front desk team.
Requirements8
- 11+ years of experience in psychiatric medication management across adult and child/adolescent populations.
- 2Current Illinois RN license and PMHNP-BC certification from ANCC.
- 3Active DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
- 4Full Practice Authority in Illinois is preferred but not required.
- 5Experience with both medication management and therapy modalities like CBT or DBT.
- 6Comfortable using telehealth platforms and EHR systems like EPIC.
- 7Hold a master's degree in nursing from an accredited program.
- 8Must be able to work in-person at the Southport clinic in Chicago.
