Physical Therapy Assistant, Pediatric Therapy & Autism Services
Overview
Lead pediatric therapy delivery in clinical settings with a focus on collaboration and high quality care. You’ll work under physical therapists to support children in Fairfax and surrounding caseloads. What You'll Do9
- 1Observe patients before and during therapy and report to the supervising therapist
- 2Assist patients with prescribed exercises and therapeutic techniques
- 3Apply massage and stretching to support treatment goals
- 4Utilize devices such as walkers to aid mobility
- 5Educate patients and families on post-treatment care
- 6Prepare and clean treatment areas and set up equipment
- 7Assist patients moving to and from therapy spaces
- 8Perform clerical tasks including scheduling and insurance paperwork
- 9Document patient responses and communicate results to the supervising therapist
Requirements6
- 1Associate or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- 21-2 years of pediatrics experience preferred but training available for new graduates
- 3Ability to work with some independence within established policies and guidelines
- 4Virginia state PTA license or eligibility
- 5Must be able to travel to assigned cases and navigate stairs
- 6Ability to lift 10 pounds regularly and to sit on the floor or crawl for extended periods
