Overview
Provide home health physical therapy as a PTA, implementing treatment plans under a supervising physical therapist across the Houston area. What You'll Do10
- 1Implement the plan of care under the direction of the treating physical therapist for assigned patients.
- 2Document each visit with accurate, timely electronic notes covering treatment, response, and progress.
- 3Educate patients, families, and caregivers on exercises and home care techniques to promote independence.
- 4Participate in interdisciplinary assessments and update the team on patient status.
- 5Communicate with physicians and other practitioners to coordinate care and discharge planning.
- 6Supervise paraprofessional staff when assigned.
- 7Contribute to quality improvement by taking part in the QAPI program.
- 8Adapt to schedule changes and patient needs, including evening hours.
- 9Travel between patient homes within the service area.
- 10Maintain patient privacy per HIPAA when handling health information.
Requirements9
- 1Current state licensure, registration, or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- 22+ years of PTA experience within the last 5 years, preferably with the relevant patient population.
- 3Current CPR certification.
- 4Able to communicate effectively in English with clinical and non-clinical staff.
- 5Able to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing schedules.
- 6Able to interpret technical instructions for patient care and equipment.
- 7Valid driver's license and auto liability insurance if using personal vehicle for work.
- 8Physical ability to lift and transfer patients up to 50+ lbs.
- 9Willingness to work in various settings, including private homes and facilities, with potential exposure to communicable diseases.
