Overview
Penn Medicine seeks a skilled Phlebotomist to provide direct patient care and perform therapeutic interventions at the 4 Acute East location. The ideal candidate will operate in a collaborative environment focused on delivering high-quality patient services.
What You'll Do11
- 1Provides/assists patients physically by pushing pulling lifting reaching kneeling standing sitting and balancing while also offering emotional support
- 2Recognizes and reports abnormal observations to the Registered Nurse promptly
- 3Responds to patient/family requests with excellent customer service skills
- 4Handles critical situations such as codes respiratory compromise falls and seizures
- 5Utilizes computers for documentation point of care results and communication avoiding unapproved abbreviations
- 6Assists with admission transfer and discharge processes orienting patients and packing belongings
- 7Supports patient transport and uses mobility devices orthotics and gait training equipment
- 8Collects specimens via mobile lab following specimen collection manual
- 9Performs 12 lead EKG tests
- 10Demonstrates initiative and accountability in completing assigned tasks
- 11Collaborates with patients families and healthcare team members for optimal care outcomes
Requirements7
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 2Certified in B.L.S. for healthcare providers
- 3Phlebotomy certification
- 4Experience with Accudata nasal swabs bladder scanner hot and cold applications abdominal binders antiembolism stockings and sequential compression sleeves
- 5Proficiency with sequential compression sleeves and antiembolism stockings
- 6Understanding of Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals
- 7Knowledge of infection control isolation patient/bed positioning side rails skin care patient specimen transport physical environment fall prevention seizure precautions
