Persistent Chat Engineer, Legal Hold Retention
Overview
You will own the Persistent Chat Engineering for the Enterprise Legal Hold Retention Solution, impacting legal compliance across the enterprise. You will collaborate with Security, Operations, Product, Engineering, Architecture, and vendors to manage the product lifecycle. You will drive fixes and feature development for persistent chat platforms like Microsoft Teams and Slack. This role differentiates by offering direct exposure to enterprise legal retention workflows and cross-functional leadership.
What You'll Do7
- 1Design and implement persistent chat retention policies for Microsoft Teams and Slack to meet legal hold requirements.
- 2Build integration pipelines between chat platforms and archival systems using Python and REST APIs.
- 3Own the resolution of high-severity chat retention issues within the first 90 days, coordinating with vendors and internal teams.
- 4Lead feature development for chat retention tooling, prioritizing based on legal and security needs.
- 5Scale chat retention to support enterprise-wide rollouts across multiple regions.
- 6Debug and optimize chat data extraction workflows to ensure complete and accurate retention.
- 7Drive compliance audits by providing evidence of chat retention and access controls.
Requirements6
- 15+ years in systems engineering or DevOps with focus on messaging or collaboration platforms.
- 23+ years administering Microsoft Teams or Slack including retention policies and eDiscovery.
- 32+ years scripting with Python or PowerShell for automation and data extraction.
- 4Experience with REST APIs and integration of third-party tools.
- 5Understanding of legal hold and retention regulations (e.g., SEC, FINRA) is a plus.
- 6Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
