PeopleSoft Finance Consultant, GL & Commitment Control
Overview
You will own the functional configuration and support of PeopleSoft FIN 9.2, focusing on General Ledger and Commitment Control for a state agency. You will join a functional team of 5 and collaborate with technical developers to deliver enhancements and fixes. This role requires deep expertise in ledger configurations, budget structures, and transactional processing. You will drive the GL Staff Aug initiative, resolving complex issues and optimizing processes within 6+ months.
What You'll Do8
- 1Configure General Ledger and Commitment Control modules, including ledger templates, budget tables, and transaction workflows.
- 2Analyze and resolve functional issues in PeopleSoft FIN 9.2, collaborating with technical team members to implement fixes.
- 3Lead testing efforts for GL and KK enhancements, creating test scripts and validating outcomes against business requirements.
- 4Document current and future state processes for budget control and journal processing, ensuring compliance with agency policies.
- 5Train end users on PeopleSoft functionality, focusing on GL and Commitment Control best practices.
- 6Provide production support for Month-End Close, Allocations, and Budget Checking, reducing error rates within the first 90 days.
- 7Partner with business analysts to gather requirements and translate them into functional specifications for technical development.
- 8Drive data migration and validation efforts for GL and KK data from legacy systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of hands-on experience with PeopleSoft FIN 9.2 in a functional role.
- 2Expertise in General Ledger and Commitment Control, including ledger configurations and budget checking.
- 3Experience with Pivot Grids, Query Manager, and nVision reporting for GL.
- 4Prior work on Staff Aug projects in a government or public sector environment.
- 5Ability to write SQL to validate data and support issue resolution.
- 6Strong communication skills for stakeholder interviews and training sessions.
- 7Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Information Systems or equivalent experience.
- 8Experience with PeopleSoft Upgrade or Implementation projects is a plus.
