You will own the classroom support role for K-12 students with special needs, collaborating with licensed teachers to implement IEPs and adapt academic lessons. What You'll Do5
- 1Assist licensed staff in implementing academic adaptations and IEPs for K-12 students.
- 2Work with students individually or in small groups to support self-care and social or behavioral needs.
- 3Maintain a safe, conducive learning environment by managing classroom dynamics and student engagement.
- 4Provide timely support for students in crisis, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- 5Apply varied learning methods to enhance student understanding and participation in lessons.
Requirements7
- 160 college credits or higher, OR a passing score on the Paraeducator Assessment (65%+ on Instructional Support, 70%+ on Knowledge and Application) OR a passing score on the Paraprofessional Assessment (combined score of 460+).
- 2Professional proficiency in English.
- 3Valid U.S. Work Authorization (no sponsorship or relocation provided).
- 4Prior experience working with children in a structured setting.
- 5Prior experience, personal or professional, assisting people with special needs or disabilities.
- 6Ability to stand and move around the classroom throughout the day.
- 7Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and safely assist students (kneeling, bending, quick response).
