Overview

You will deliver direct Occupational Therapy services to pediatric patients in an outpatient clinic, managing a caseload of 10-15 patients daily. You will join a multidisciplinary team at Children's Health Richardson Therapy Services, collaborating with physicians, families, and staff to create treatment plans. This role offers the chance to grow your clinical skills with a leading pediatric hospital affiliated with UT Southwestern. You will own your schedule and contribute to program development, with the support of a dedicated team. This position is on-site, with a consistent Tuesday-Friday schedule.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Build individualized treatment plans for pediatric patients using Occupational Therapy interventions, adjusting based on progress and patient response.
  • 2Document patient evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in the electronic health record within 24 hours of each session.
  • 3Lead family education sessions to ensure caregivers understand home exercise programs and carryover of therapeutic strategies.
  • 4Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and school therapists to coordinate care and ensure smooth transitions for patients.
  • 5Manage your own patient schedule, balancing treatment time and administrative tasks to maximize clinic throughput.
  • 6Maintain therapy equipment and inventory, flagging any needs for repair or replacement to the site leader.
  • 7Participate in weekly team meetings, case conferences, and peer reviews to share insights and improve outcomes.
  • 8Develop new group therapy programs or protocols as assigned, focusing on patient engagement and measurable progress.

Requirements9

  • 11+ year of clinical experience in Occupational Therapy, with pediatric experience preferred (3+ years preferred).
  • 2Master's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • 3Active Occupational Therapy license in the state of Texas.
  • 4Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
  • 5Experience with pediatric evaluations and therapeutic interventions.
  • 6Strong documentation skills with electronic health records.
  • 7Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and patient needs.
  • 8Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with families and colleagues.
  • 9Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
