What You'll Do5

  • 1Set up for non-sterile and sterile procedures with appropriate instruments equipment and supplies under supervision
  • 2Assist surgeon during minor surgical procedures including suctioning retracting passing instruments and providing airway support until core competencies are met
  • 3Circulate on surgical procedures completing necessary EMR entries paperwork logs and other directed tasks
  • 4Perform additional procedures such as capturing radiographs taking dental impressions capturing intraoral digital scans removing surgical splints fitting splints removing sutures placing packs
  • 5Maintain sterilization processes and follow infection control protocols

Requirements8

  • 1High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2Current BLS certification
  • 3Infection control training
  • 4Sterile processing certification or experience
  • 5Dental Radiography certification
  • 6Successful completion of nitrous oxide course
  • 7IV/Phlebotomy certification
  • 8Anesthesia related continuing education
