Operations Specialist, Event Setup & Facility Maintenance
Overview
You will own the safe and efficient movement of event equipment at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, handling loads up to 50 lbs across 450 venues worldwide. You'll join the Legends Global operations team, working onsite in Columbus, Ohio, to execute event setups, dismantles, and janitorial tasks that keep our facility pristine. What You'll Do9
- 1Review event documents and task lists for area setups and dismantles, then execute them with precision.
- 2Coordinate the movement of chairs, tables, stages, and wall panels using pallet jacks, chair carts, and other equipment.
- 3Operate material handling machinery like scrubbers, trash compactors, and cardboard balers to maintain facility safety and cleanliness.
- 4Maintain inventory in proper storage areas, ensuring equipment is stocked and organized for upcoming events.
- 5Clean spills, breakages, and debris immediately to uphold a safe environment for guests and staff.
- 6Perform janitorial duties: sweep, mop, scrub floors, strip composite floors, extract carpets, and wash glass, walls, and stainless steel surfaces.
- 7Restock bathroom supplies and dispose of all waste, including bulk trash removal from all building areas.
- 8Interact with guests friendly and courteously, offering assistance within 10 feet to enhance their experience.
- 9Attend and follow all Legends Global policies, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
Requirements8
- 11-2 years of custodial, janitorial, or meeting setup experience in hotels, hospitals, offices, or commercial facilities preferred.
- 2Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs and perform extensive walking, climbing, stooping, and crawling.
- 3Willingness to work flexible and irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support event schedules.
- 4Comfortable with exposure to adverse weather conditions and cleaning chemicals.
- 5Skill in operating machinery after training, including scrubbers, pallet jacks, chair carts, trash compactors, cardboard balers, and vacuum cleaners and extractors.
- 6Ability to read and understand simple English and communicate effectively with all individuals.
- 7Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to initiate positive interactions with guests.
- 8Familiarity with facility floor plans and a willingness to learn all sections of the venue.
