Operations Lead, Protein Repack & Food Bank
Overview
You will own daily operations for the Protein Repack unit at Atlanta Community Food Bank, coordinating teams that repack frozen poultry for 700+ partner agencies across 29 counties. Working in a cold-storage environment, you will direct workflow, train staff, and enforce HACCP and GMP standards. This role reports to the Supply Chain Supervisor and serves as the front-line leader for a team of production associates. You will bridge operational execution and food safety compliance, making a direct impact on hunger relief in metro Atlanta.
What You'll Do8
- 1Coordinate daily protein repack activities, including sorting, portioning, labeling, and packaging of poultry and other frozen products to meet production goals.
- 2Direct workflow and prioritize tasks to achieve daily operational targets while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- 3Serve as backup to the Supervisor, providing guidance to team members and supporting training and onboarding of new hires.
- 4Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move product and inventory throughout the facility safely.
- 5Enforce compliance with HACCP, GMP, and workplace safety standards in refrigerated and frozen environments.
- 6Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area, ensuring products meet established quality requirements.
- 7Support inventory control processes, including product tracking and accuracy, and communicate equipment or product issues promptly.
- 8Identify and implement process improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, and operational performance.
Requirements7
- 1Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
- 2Previous warehouse, food handling, or production experience a plus (not required).
- 3Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- 4Dependable and punctual with ability to work well in a team environment.
- 5Basic understanding of food safety and cleanliness standards.
- 6Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in cold or frozen environments for extended periods.
- 7Must be available to work weekends and flexible hours as needed.
