This full-time position requires on-site presence at East Point locations with flexibility for weekends. Responsibilities include operating specialized vehicles and maintaining accurate delivery documentation.
What You'll Do11
- 1Safely load transport and deliver food materials to partners agencies programs donors and events
- 2Conduct pre and post trip vehicle inspections and report safety concerns
- 3Verify delivery accuracy before departure and upon arrival
- 4Operate trucks lift gates pallet jacks and forklifts following Food Bank policies
- 5Follow assigned routes and schedules while adapting to changing priorities
- 6Maintain accurate delivery documentation and required records
- 7Serve as professional representative of the Atlanta Community Food Bank during all deliveries
- 8Build positive relationships with partner agencies donors volunteers and internal teams
- 9Communicate clearly regarding deliveries delays or issues
- 10Resolve routine delivery concerns while providing exceptional customer service
- 11Adapt to varying physical demands including lifting heavy items up to 75 lbs frequent bending stooping reaching climbing and walking
Requirements11
- 1Valid Georgia Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL)
- 2Current DOT Medical Examiner Certificate (MEC)
- 3Experience operating a Class A commercial vehicle
- 4Safe driving record
- 5Ability to provide current Motor Vehicle Record meeting Food Bank and insurance requirements
- 6Successful completion of DOT Clearinghouse query without disqualifying records
- 7Capacity to meet Driver Qualification file requirements as mandated by DOT and Food Bank
- 8Physical ability to lift and transport heavy items up to 75 lbs
- 9Frequent bending stooping reaching climbing and walking capabilities
- 10Experience with forklift operation and warehouse equipment
- 11Tolerance for temperature variations between ambient and refrigeration/freezer environments
