Overview

Own the Lean transformation of the CHVAC Charlotte factory across the full value stream, from suppliers to internal operations to customers. Drive breakthrough improvements in lead time, inventory, and schedule stability through Kaizen events and Carrier Excellence (Cx) standards. Report directly to the Carrier Excellence Manager, with exposure to every site in the business unit and divisional WHQ. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape operational strategy and coach a cross-functional team, with a clear path to Cx Practitioner certification within 1.5 years.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Translate business goals into actionable Lean Macro Plans, guiding site leadership toward sustained operational improvements.
  • 2Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on plant layout, material flow, cell design, and logistics, including 3PL process alignment.
  • 3Partner with cross-functional teams to support high-priority growth initiatives for data center manufacturing lines.
  • 4Plan, lead, and facilitate Kaizen events and value-stream mapping activities from end-to-end, driving measurable results.
  • 5Maintain a robust pipeline of Productivity Improvement Projects (PIP) to deliver year-over-year cost savings and KPI gains.
  • 6Coach and mentor site resources, expanding the internal network of event leaders and removing execution barriers.
  • 7Articulate technical concepts, productivity strategies, and operational results to shop-floor operators, functional managers, and executive leadership.
  • 8Perform workplace audits, conduct risk assessments, and establish standard work aligned with Carrier Excellence (Cx) guidelines.

Requirements9

  • 1Bachelor's Degree in any field.
  • 27+ years in manufacturing operations with progressive technical or leadership responsibilities.
  • 33+ years in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence, including leading cross-functional Kaizen events.
  • 4Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline (preferred).
  • 5Active Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification, or equivalent recognized Lean certification (preferred).
  • 6Experience in high-volume manufacturing (e.g., Automotive) or high-customization/job-shop environments (preferred).
  • 7Deep expertise in Manufacturing Standard Work, Cell Design, Integrated Production & Logistics, PFEP, and Third-Party Logistics integration (preferred).
  • 8Ability to self-direct, execute with speed, and communicate effectively across all organizational tiers.
  • 9Commitment to obtaining Carrier Excellence (Cx) Practitioner certification within the first 1.5 years.
