What You'll Do8

  • 1Deliver patient-centered OT evaluations and treatment plans for rehab and hospital cases, achieving functional independence goals within 90-day benchmarks.
  • 2Build individualized interventions using therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and adaptive equipment to restore daily living skills.
  • 3Document patient progress in electronic health records (EHR), meeting compliance standards for Medicare and state regulations.
  • 4Collaborate with physical therapists, nurses, and physicians to coordinate multidisciplinary care and discharge planning.
  • 5Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safety strategies to reduce rehospitalization risk.
  • 6Adjust treatment protocols based on patient response, using outcome measures to guide clinical decisions.
  • 7Participate in weekly case conferences and quality improvement initiatives to elevate rehab service outcomes.
  • 8Supervise OT assistants and students during treatment sessions, ensuring quality care and skill transfer.

Requirements8

  • 1Hold active OT license in Tennessee or obtain TN licensure before start date.
  • 2Bring master’s degree or doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • 3Show 1+ years of clinical experience in inpatient rehab or skilled nursing (new grads with strong fieldwork considered).
  • 4Pass NBCOT certification exam and maintain CPR certification.
  • 5Demonstrate working knowledge of EHR systems and documentation standards.
  • 6Deliver compassionate care to diverse patient populations with neurological, orthopedic, and cardiopulmonary conditions.
  • 7Communicate clearly with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams in fast-paced rehab settings.
