Nursing Home Cook
Overview
Full-time Cook preparing meals under Director of Dining Services. Provide quality food service in a rehabilitation center. 11a-7p shift at $21/hour. 32 hours weekly.
What You'll Do11
- 1Follow therapeutic diets ordered by the physician
- 2Ensure proper serving temperature of food
- 3Maintain visual appeal of the food
- 4Monitor daily nourishments using standardized recipes
- 5Assure correct portion control
- 6Adhere to sanitation and storage policies
- 7Perform regular inspections of food service areas
- 8Deal tactfully with residents staff families and external agencies
- 9Lead kitchen staff and supervise personnel
- 10Manage supplies and equipment maintenance
- 11Handle operational challenges independently
Requirements8
- 1One year dietary experience in hospital or skilled nursing facility preferred
- 2Ability to read write speak and understand English
- 3Capacity for independent decision making
- 4Tactful interaction with diverse groups
- 5Knowledge of dining service regulations and hospital protocols
- 6Leadership skills for supervising staff
- 7Patience and positive attitude
- 8Willingness to work flexible hours
