Nurse Practitioner PMHNP, Public Safety & Behavioral Health
Overview
Own psychiatric behavioral health services for a city emergency medical services program at scale across offices, fire stations, and partner sites. Lead interdisciplinary collaboration under medical direction to support public safety personnel and crisis response. What You'll Do5
- 1Build and deliver psychiatric health services for a city EMS program across multiple sites
- 2Design and implement complex wellness and crisis intervention initiatives with measurable outcomes
- 3Lead program leadership activities and coordinate with department leadership, labor unions, and healthcare partners
- 4Provide consultative behavioral health support during emergencies and high-stress events
- 5Ship evidence-grounded practices in trauma recovery, suicide prevention, and resilience training across the agency
Requirements6
- 1Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university and a minimum of three years of behavioral health, psychiatric, emergency services, public safety, military, disaster response, or related clinical experience
- 2OR 1 year of experience managing behavioral health programs, peer support programs, wellness initiatives, or crisis intervention services
- 3Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland or as a Maryland Multi-State Compact participant and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Maryland at time of appointment
- 4Certification as a Nurse Practitioner with psychiatric-mental health or behavioral health specialty (PMHNP-BC) and maintained per Maryland Board of Nursing requirements
- 5A valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver’s license or an equivalent out-of-state license
- 6Must obtain advanced practice certification issued by the Maryland State Board of Nursing if practicing on a Multi-State Compact RN License
