Nurse Practitioner Interventional Pain PRN
Overview
You will own patient evaluation, management, and treatment in the Interventional Pain clinic at Moffitt Cancer Center, working under physician protocols with a scope that spans complex cancer pain cases. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of APRNs, physicians, and specialists to advance the prevention and cure of cancer. What You'll Do8
- 1Conduct comprehensive pain assessments and develop treatment plans for oncology patients with acute and chronic pain.
- 2Perform interventional procedures under physician protocol, including nerve blocks and epidural injections, using fluoroscopy and ultrasound guidance.
- 3Manage medication regimens, including opioid and adjuvant therapies, with careful monitoring of side effects and drug interactions.
- 4Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care across the oncology continuum.
- 5Educate patients and families on pain management strategies, procedural expectations, and follow-up care.
- 6Document patient encounters accurately in the EPIC electronic health record system.
- 7Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance pain management outcomes and reduce disparities.
- 8Provide on-call coverage for pain-related emergencies and urgent consultations.
Requirements8
- 13+ years of APRN experience in pain management or a related specialty.
- 2Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with certification in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care or Family Practice.
- 3Hold a current license as an APRN in the state of Florida or multi-state compact.
- 4BCLS and ACLS certification required at time of hire.
- 5Experience with fluoroscopy and ultrasound for guided injections preferred.
- 6Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records is strongly preferred.
- 7Ability to work independently within a defined scope of practice and under physician protocols.
- 8Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills in a fast-paced oncology environment.
Salary Insight
$131 - $200k per year
