Nurse Practitioner Endocrinology
Overview
You will own comprehensive endocrine care at a growing adult endocrinology practice in Chicago, managing a busy caseload of patients with diabetes, thyroid, and osteoporosis conditions. You will join a collaborative team of physicians and nurse practitioners, with access to mature Continuous Glucose Monitors and Insulin Pump patient programs. This role stands out for its balance of clinical autonomy, shared on-call duties, and a Monday-to-Friday schedule with only one Saturday per month.
What You'll Do7
- 1Conduct routine checkups to assess health conditions and discover possible issues
- 2Prescribe and interpret labs, imaging, and blood glucose logs to identify underlying issues
- 3Reach informed diagnoses based on scientific knowledge and patient medical history
- 4Prescribe medications and provide comprehensive administration instructions
- 5Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and office staff
- 6Cultivate a climate of trust and compassion for patients
- 7Manage on-call and hospital rounding duties shared among providers
Requirements9
- 15+ years experience as a Nurse Practitioner in endocrinology or related field
- 2In-depth knowledge of Continuous Glucose Monitors and Insulin Pumps
- 3Current Illinois State Licensure as Nurse Practitioner
- 4Active DEA Certificate
- 5Current CPR certification
- 6Proof of COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations
- 7Excellent oral and written communication skills
- 8Ability to work Monday-Friday and one Saturday per month
- 9On-call and hospital rounding availability
