Night Auditor Front Office Agent
Overview
You will own the end-of-day close for a mid-size hotel in Manhattan's Financial District, balancing all revenues, receipts, and ledgers before the next morning. You will also greet and register guests, handle check-in and check-out, and ensure complete guest satisfaction. Working with a tight team of front desk agents, you will report to the Front Office Manager. This role stands out because you will master the property management system and income audit procedures, becoming the trusted night-side operator for the hotel.
What You'll Do10
- 1Greet and register guests, assign rooms, and verify credit and payment methods at check-in.
- 2Run the daily income audit, balancing restaurant checks and telephone charges against postings.
- 3Compute bills, collect payments, and make change for guests during checkout.
- 4Post room, food, and telephone charges to ledgers using the property management system.
- 5Perform bucket checks to ensure all accounts are current and meet hotel standards.
- 6Answer all incoming calls within three rings and respond to guest inquiries about hotel services.
- 7Record guest comments and complaints, referring to managers when needed.
- 8Contact housekeeping or maintenance staff when guests report room problems.
- 9Issue room keys and escort instructions to bellmen.
- 10Advise housekeeping when rooms are vacated and ready for cleaning.
Requirements10
- 1Proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional, with emphasis on Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- 22+ years in a hotel front desk or night audit role.
- 3Experience with a computerized property management system (e.g., Opera, PMS).
- 4Ability to compute discount, interest, profit and loss, commission, markups, and percentages.
- 5Strong organizational skills to prioritize duties and meet deadlines.
- 6Clear written and verbal communication for business letters, summaries, and reports.
- 7Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- 8Physical ability to lift 10 lbs. and sit or stand for extended periods.
- 9Logical thinking and personal judgment for office tasks requiring special skills.
- 10Outgoing, welcoming personality to represent the hotel.
