Overview
The Network IT Automation Engineer leads design and implementation of automated solutions to boost reliability scalability and efficiency of network and IT infrastructure. This role merges traditional networking expertise with modern automation and scripting to cut manual effort increase uptime and support growth. Responsibilities include designing deploying and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure troubleshooting performance ensuring high availability implementing monitoring logging and alerting assisting with LAN WAN SD-WAN and data center network architecture improvements developing automation scripts using Ansible Terraform and similar tools automating provisioning configuration management compliance checks and patching applying zero trust principles securing VPNs firewalls IDS/IPS and cloud security solutions automating routine IT tasks supporting hybrid cloud and on-prem environments implementing monitoring self-healing workflows collaborating with security teams conducting site evaluations for acquisitions creating documentation runbooks architecture diagrams automation workflows and SOPs providing mentorship on automation tools and best practices.
What You'll Do11
- 1Design and deploy enterprise network infrastructure including routers switches firewalls VPNs and wireless systems
- 2Troubleshoot network performance issues and ensure high availability
- 3Implement network monitoring logging and alerting systems
- 4Assist with LAN WAN SD-WAN and data center network architecture improvements
- 5Develop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible Terraform and similar tools
- 6Automate device provisioning configuration management compliance checks and patching
- 7Apply zero trust principles secure VPNs firewalls IDS/IPS and cloud security solutions
- 8Automate routine IT tasks such as server provisioning backup validation and user account lifecycle
- 9Support hybrid cloud and on-prem infrastructure environments
- 10Implement monitoring and self-healing workflows for critical systems
- 11Collaborate with security teams to implement automated security controls
Requirements11
- 13–7 years of experience in network engineering or systems administration
- 2Strong proficiency with enterprise networking Cisco Juniper Unifi Palo Alto Fortinet etc
- 3Hands-on experience with automation scripting Python PowerShell Bash
- 4Familiarity with configuration management IaC tools Ansible Terraform Git CI/CD pipelines
- 5Strong understanding of TCP/IP routing protocols OSPF BGP VLANs firewalls and VPN technologies
- 6Experience with monitoring platforms Zabbix Prometheus PRTG SolarWinds etc
- 7Knowledge of APIs and programmatic device interaction REST NETCONF/RESTCONF gNMI
- 8Experience automating cloud services Azure AWS GCP
- 9Familiarity with containerization Docker and orchestration Kubernetes
- 10Network certifications CCNP or CCIE preferred CISSP CCSP PMP or relevant audit assessment certifications
- 11Background in cybersecurity workflows and automated detection response
