Thrive Therapies Group seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to lead specialized instruction for K–12 students with disabilities in the Nashville Metro area. This full-time position involves managing IEP cases collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and delivering evidence-based instruction tailored to diverse learner needs.
What You'll Do12
- 1Serve as IEP case manager for a caseload while coordinating evaluations and progress reports under IDEA guidelines
- 2Develop measurable IEP goals aligned with standards and post-secondary outcomes
- 3Write precise IEP documentation including present levels goals and accommodations
- 4Coordinate therapeutic services with SLPs OTs PTs and BCBAs to integrate classroom instruction
- 5Facilitate family-centered IEP meetings involving educators and mental health professionals
- 6Design differentiated instruction using explicit teaching and structured literacy approaches
- 7Implement behavior intervention plans with fidelity and analyze behavioral data
- 8Supervise paraprofessionals and establish positive classroom environments
- 9Partner with general education teachers for co-teaching and inclusion initiatives
- 10Communicate regularly with families using warm transparent language
- 11Develop individualized transition plans for students aged 14 and older
- 12Connect families with community resources for post-secondary opportunities
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor's or master's degree in Special Education from an accredited program
- 2Active state teaching license with good standing
- 3Knowledge of IDEA IEP processes and special education law
- 41+ years of K–12 special education experience
- 5Certification in structured literacy or Orton-Gillingham methods preferred
- 6Prior experience in co-teaching or inclusion settings
- 7Bilingual Spanish proficiency encouraged
- 8Familiarity with transition planning and vocational rehabilitation services
