Overview

As the Multilingual Interventionist, you own targeted small-group instruction and individualized intervention for Emergent Bilingual students across a K-12 campus in Dallas, TX. You coordinate LPAC and TELPAS compliance, ensuring state and federal guidelines are met. Working directly with teachers, administrators, and families, you drive equitable access to core content through ELD strategies. What You'll Do10

  • 1Design and deliver daily targeted small-group instruction for Emergent Bilingual students, including newcomers, using research-based strategies aligned to proficiency levels.
  • 2Partner with classroom teachers to plan and implement ELD and sheltered instruction strategies within reading language arts and other priority content areas, including co-teaching when cohorted.
  • 3Track student progress using TELPAS and classroom data to adjust groupings and instructional focus for improved language proficiency.
  • 4Serve as LPAC Chair, facilitating meetings, documenting decisions, and ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • 5Coordinate TELPAS and TELPAS Alternate testing, including training, administration, and submission, plus maintain accurate student assessment files.
  • 6Analyze multiple data sources (e.g., TELPAS, STAAR, benchmarks, screeners) to identify instructional needs and plan interventions for language development and academic growth.
  • 7Collaborate with the Special Education team to support dually identified Emergent Bilingual and SPED students, ensuring aligned supports.
  • 8Lead job-embedded professional learning and coaching for teachers on ELD strategies, linguistic accommodations, and best practices.
  • 9Communicate with families of Emergent Bilingual students to share progress, instructional supports, and available resources, fostering a culturally responsive environment.
  • 10Participate in campus data meetings and professional learning communities to ensure EB student needs inform campus priorities and instruction.

Requirements10

  • 1Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • 2Valid Texas Teacher Certification with ESL certification required.
  • 3Preferred: Bilingual certification in elementary education.
  • 4Experience teaching Emergent Bilingual students and implementing ELD strategies.
  • 5Experience with LPAC, TELPAS, and multilingual program compliance strongly preferred.
  • 6Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • 7Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • 8Ability to speak effectively before groups of constituents or employees.
  • 9Ability to use Microsoft Office for spreadsheets, letters, and other written communications.
  • 10Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions and solve problems with concrete variables.
