The Move Crew Grooming Snowcat Operator at Winter Park Resort oversees snowmaking and grooming operations during the ski season. This role combines heavy equipment management with guest-focused snow production. You will ensure optimal snow conditions through proactive maintenance and efficient trail preparation.
What You'll Do9
- 1Perform pre and post operational checks on snowcats and transport fan guns without damaging equipment
- 2Build snow platforms and keep fan guns clear for optimal snow distribution
- 3Maintain safe travel routes and assist with trail setup using hoses and guns
- 4Dozing snowmaking piles and participating in nightly grooming meetings
- 5Repair trail issues such as rocks or thin spots while collaborating with snowmaking teams
- 6Fuel equipment safely and conduct post-operational machine checks
- 7Communicate equipment problems to heavy machinery mechanics
- 8Drive vehicles to and from work locations reliably
- 9Work evenings weekends and holidays under varying weather conditions
Requirements8
- 15+ years snowmaking experience with Spark and Airflow
- 2Minimum 2 years snow grooming experience preferred
- 3Snowmobile operator certification preferred
- 4Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- 5Physical ability to lift 60 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
- 6Ability to work in any weather conditions and for extended periods seated
- 7Strong manual dexterity for operating hand tools like rakes and shovels
- 8Excellent communication skills for interacting with guests and supervisors
