Protolabs seeks a Mold Process Technician to lead injection molding operations. This role drives production excellence and innovation. Responsibilities span setup operation and quality assurance across shifts.
What You'll Do17
- 1Set up and start molds using decoupled scientific molding practices
- 2Load material into the machine hopper
- 3Inspect molds for correct set up and verify proper materials
- 4Set-up and start UR robots including auto spray clipper and grid placement
- 5Develop machine operating parameters to process parts to specifications
- 6Perform thorough part inspections to ensure specifications are met
- 7Record process specifications onto cycle sheets
- 8Accurately document mold file information
- 9Process parts to specifications ensuring dimensional accuracy
- 10Request evaluate and monitor mold modifications through rework system
- 11Troubleshoot mold cycling and function issues in the press
- 12Suggest or perform corrective actions for quality problems
- 13Investigate new materials and determine molding parameters
- 14Maintain clean organized work area emphasizing safety quality and efficiency
- 15Continuously seek process improvements and enhance personal performance
- 16Adhere to quality and safety standards and company policies
- 17Perform additional tasks as assigned
Requirements5
- 12 year technical degree or tech certification in related field or 5 years of related experience
- 2Experience adjusting process parameters to correct cosmetic and dimensional defects in plastic injection molded parts
- 3Knowledge of decoupled molding techniques and engineering grade resins
- 4Understanding of machine process control and molding technology
- 5Ability to process wide range of engineering resins
