Mohs Surgery Assistant, Dermatology & Surgical Support
Overview
Support Mohs surgery in a leading dermatology group and help ensure patient comfort and safety at scale. You will assist surgeons during procedures, prepare the surgical environment, and coordinate post op instructions. This role is embedded in a collaborative team focused on skin cancer care and aesthetic services. What makes this position unique is direct involvement in Mohs workflow and patient education from intake through recovery.
What You'll Do5
- 1Build and prep for Mohs procedures by obtaining patient history and vitals and ensuring sterility of instruments.
- 2Assist surgeons during Mohs procedures and maintain a ready, organized surgical environment.
- 3Provide post-operative guidance and care instructions to patients to support recovery.
- 4Document patient information accurately in the EHR and coordinate scheduling for follow-ups.
- 5Educate patients about the procedure to alleviate concerns and improve understanding.
Requirements7
- 1High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification preferred.
- 2Prior experience as a Medical Assistant in a surgical or dermatology setting, preferably with Mohs surgery.
- 3Knowledge of surgical instruments, aseptic techniques, and patient care protocols.
- 4Strong communication and interpersonal skills, focused on patient comfort and education.
- 5Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- 6Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and medical office software.
- 7Commitment to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
