Mobile Pet Nail Technician | Grooming & Vet Tech
Overview
You will own the full mobile nail service experience for pets across Washington, DC, performing nail trims, ear cleanings, tooth brushing, and gland expressions in our mobile nail van. You'll work independently, managing your route and schedule, while delivering safe, compassionate care. Our team values animal welfare and customer trust, and you'll have on-the-job training and tool support to succeed. This contract role offers flexible hours and direct client tips, making it a unique fit for a skilled pet care professional.
What You'll Do9
- 1Perform nail trims, ear cleanings, tooth brushing, and anal gland expressions on pets in the mobile nail van, ensuring comfort and safety.
- 2Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards for all equipment and work areas, following safety protocols.
- 3Uphold excellent customer service by actively listening to clients' needs and preferences, and upselling additional services or products as appropriate.
- 4Drive the mobile van to scheduled appointments, managing your route and time to deliver timely service.
- 5Detect potential harmful animal behavior and adapt handling techniques to prevent injury to pets or yourself.
- 6Deliver online purchases to clients during appointments.
- 7Promote services at dog parks and other venues to attract new clients.
- 8Support walk-in services in the store during downtime when no appointments are scheduled, assisting the team as needed.
- 9Lift and handle pets up to 60+ pounds regularly, using proper body mechanics and safety techniques.
Requirements8
- 12+ years of experience in grooming, bathing, or veterinary technician services.
- 2Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record, comfortable driving a mobile van.
- 3Passion and love for animals, with strong pet handling and safety skills.
- 4Excellent communication skills and friendly customer service demeanor.
- 5Ability to work independently, managing appointments and route without direct supervision.
- 6Proficiency with technology for scheduling, payment processing, and client communication.
- 7Physical ability to lift 60+ pounds regularly and stand for extended periods.
- 8Proactive attitude in detecting and responding to potential harmful animal behavior.
