Middleware Support Engineer, WebLogic & Tomcat
Overview
You will own WebLogic and Tomcat L2 production support for enterprise applications at Virtusa in Dallas. You will manage server administration, maintenance, and capacity for mission-critical systems on Unix/Linux. What You'll Do8
- 1Provide L2 production support for Tomcat, WebLogic, and Oracle IAS environments.
- 2Perform server administration, maintenance, and capacity planning for Unix/Linux systems.
- 3Troubleshoot and resolve application server issues, including thread dumps and heap dumps.
- 4Deploy and configure applications on WebLogic and Tomcat using WLST scripts.
- 5Monitor system health, performance, and log files to proactively identify issues.
- 6Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth releases and patches.
- 7Document root cause analyses and maintain runbooks for recurring issues.
- 8Participate in on-call rotation for 24/7 support of production environments.
Requirements8
- 13+ years of experience with WebLogic and Tomcat administration.
- 22+ years of experience with Oracle IAS in production environments.
- 33+ years of experience with Unix/Linux server administration.
- 4Hands-on experience with WLST scripting and automation.
- 5Strong understanding of JVM tuning, thread dumps, and heap analysis.
- 6Experience with load balancing and high availability configurations.
- 7ITIL certification or experience with incident management processes.
- 8Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
