Middleware Engineer, Java & Enterprise Middleware
Overview
This role owns the maintenance and support of enterprise middleware platforms and web applications at scale across on-site locations. You will ensure reliable Java runtime environments and middleware services in production, participate in technical evaluation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. The team values hands-on problem solving, clear communication, and continuous improvement. This position offers a contract-to-hire path with on-site work in Malvern, PA or Charlotte, NC or Plano, TX.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and maintain enterprise middleware platforms to ensure high availability and performance across web applications
- 2Design and implement improvements to Java runtime environments and middleware services
- 3Troubleshoot complex incidents and drive root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence
- 4Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to deploy reliable solutions
- 5Ship scalable middleware configurations and deployments across environments
- 6Lead technical discussions during interviews and challenge scenarios for evaluation
- 7Maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational runbooks for on-call readiness
- 8Monitor and optimize middleware performance using standard observability tools
- 9Coordinate on-site and remote work to meet project milestones
- 10Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge with the team
