Mid-Level Cyber Defense Analyst
Overview
Lead a comprehensive cyber defense effort supporting government agencies in Washington DC. Own incident response and threat mitigation initiatives at a high level. Drive continuous improvement of security posture across cloud and on-premises environments.
What You'll Do11
- 1Coordinate incident response functions and provide technical support to defense technicians
- 2Analyze log files to identify threats and recommend remediation strategies
- 3Perform cyber defense trend analysis and maintain current threat intelligence
- 4Collect forensic evidence and conduct real-time incident handling operations
- 5Design and execute incident response plans for cloud service models
- 6Track and document incidents from detection to resolution
- 7Collaborate with intelligence analysts to correlate threat data
- 8Monitor external threat sources to update defensive measures
- 9Implement defense-in-depth principles across network infrastructure
- 10Preserve evidence integrity following established security protocols
- 11Develop and share insights on vulnerability mitigation techniques
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s degree or higher with 5+ years experience in malware analysis or incident handling
- 2Strong knowledge of attacker tactics including script kiddies and nation-state threats
- 3Expertise in system administration network hardening and protocol understanding
- 4Familiarity with application security risks from OWASP Top 10
- 5Must hold or obtain CERT CSIH CEH GCIH GISF or CISSP certification within 3 months
- 6Active Secret clearance required
- 7Experience preserving evidence integrity and securing network communications
- 8Proven ability to perform damage assessments and vulnerability recognition
- 9Skills in using security event correlation tools and cloud incident response design
- 10Additional certifications in buffer overflows client attacks covering tacks denial of service attacks are preferred
