Overview

Own the microbiological quality program at a leading FDA-registered manufacturer of healthcare solutions. You will perform environmental monitoring, water testing, and post-cleaning verification across GMP production areas. Working with senior microbiologists, you ensure product safety for hospitals and pharmacies nationwide. This role offers direct impact on patient health through rigorous testing and documentation.

What You'll Do9

  • 1Conduct routine environmental monitoring and water sampling in cleanroom environments, following approved GMP procedures.
  • 2Perform post-cleaning verification sampling of equipment and manufacturing areas to confirm sanitation effectiveness.
  • 3Prepare, label, transport, and process microbiological samples within required timelines, ensuring accurate chain of custody.
  • 4Execute microbial enumeration and culture-based testing techniques, including membrane filtration and plate counting.
  • 5Coordinate isolate shipments to contract labs for microbial identification, maintaining proper documentation.
  • 6Maintain laboratory readiness by managing supplies, calibrating equipment, and organizing workspaces to ISO standards.
  • 7Complete GMP documentation and data entry with precision, supporting deviation reports and CAPA investigations.
  • 8Support internal and external audits by preparing records and demonstrating compliant practices.
  • 9Assist in training new technicians on aseptic techniques and GMP compliance.

Requirements9

  • 1Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related life science.
  • 21-3 years of microbiology lab experience in a regulated environment (preferred).
  • 3Hands-on experience with aseptic techniques and microbial sampling methods.
  • 4Working knowledge of cGMP, FDA, and ISO regulations.
  • 5Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping per GDP standards.
  • 6Ability to troubleshoot lab issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • 7Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • 8Physical ability to wear PPE and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • 9Flexibility to adjust schedule for time-sensitive sampling operations.
