Metrology Lab Manager at Boeing
Overview
Lead a team of metrology engineers within the Boeing Test and Evaluation organization. Oversee operations at the 2nd shift facility in Everett WA. This role drives technical excellence and ensures compliance with safety and quality standards.
What You'll Do11
- 1Lead a team of metrology engineers as part of Metrology and Test Equipment Services (MATES)
- 2Establish rapport with key business partners and collaborate across enterprise functions
- 3Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches for complex projects
- 4Lead initiatives to improve cross-functional processes and operational efficiency
- 5Coach and mentor staff to enhance performance and develop capabilities
- 6Assess compliance with operational standards during routine evaluations
- 7Support rotating weekend on-call duties approximately once every two months
- 8Drive resolution of technical challenges impacting multiple labs and operational areas
- 9Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- 10Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements
- 11Participate in strategic planning for laboratory resources and capabilities
Requirements10
- 1Minimum 1 year leadership experience in engineering or technical environments
- 2Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage large-scale projects
- 3Demonstrated expertise in metrology and test equipment management
- 4Strong communication skills with written and verbal proficiency
- 5Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift materials up to 35 pounds
- 6Ability to travel domestically for site visits and meetings
- 7Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology or related field
- 8Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and industrial equipment
- 9Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- 10Commitment to safety-sensitive operations and confidentiality
