Member Outreach Specialist - Medicaid & Community Resources
Overview
You will own outreach for Medicaid members in Indiana, ensuring they access healthcare services, benefits, and community resources. You will be the direct point of contact, driving member engagement from first call to resolution. You will work with a team of specialists in a remote-friendly setting, supporting health plan quality initiatives. This role offers $20-$22/hr, PTO after 90 days, and 10 paid holidays.
What You'll Do10
- 1Conduct inbound and outbound outreach to Medicaid members for assigned campaigns.
- 2Locate and engage members identified by the health plan for outreach.
- 3Build rapport with members and caregivers to identify healthcare and social barriers.
- 4Educate members on benefits, services, programs, and incentives.
- 5Assist members with scheduling preventive, follow-up, wellness, behavioral health, maternal health, and chronic care appointments.
- 6Support welcome calls, redetermination outreach, benefits education, and member re-engagement initiatives.
- 7Coordinate transportation for appointments and connect members to food, housing, and community resources.
- 8Refer members to care management or care coordination when needed.
- 9Document member contacts, needs, referrals, resolutions, and outcomes in required systems.
- 10Escalate urgent or complex member needs and adjust outreach priorities as needed.
Requirements9
- 11+ years in healthcare, managed care, Medicaid, customer service, or community outreach.
- 2Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- 3Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- 4Problem-solving skills to identify member needs.
- 5Comfortable with frequent outbound telephone outreach.
- 6Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- 7Computer proficiency and documentation skills.
- 8Knowledge of HIPAA and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- 9Preferred: Indiana Medicaid program knowledge and bilingual skills.
