Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant Sacramento
Overview
You will own patient flow at a small Family Practice in Sacramento, handling check-in, scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, and front-desk calls while doubling as a Medical Assistant for vitals and rooming. You will work onsite with a close-knit team serving a local community, where your bilingual Spanish skills and medical terminology help bridge care. Unlike larger clinics, this role lets you wear both clinical and administrative hats daily, with paid sick time and a criminal-record-friendly policy.
What You'll Do8
- 1Check patients in and out, schedule appointments, and manage the front-desk flow during peak hours.
- 2Verify insurance eligibility and collect co-pays or payments before patient visits.
- 3Answer calls, triage patient inquiries, and route referrals to specialty offices.
- 4Room patients and record vital signs to prep for provider assessments.
- 5Scan and update patient records in the EMR system across the visit.
- 6Support providers with exam room setup and basic clinical tasks as needed.
- 7Coordinate follow-up appointments and lab orders to keep the schedule tight.
- 8Handle patient messages and document accurate visit notes in real time.
Requirements7
- 11+ year in customer service, preferably in a medical setting.
- 21+ year of medical terminology to communicate with providers and patients.
- 3Ability to work in-person at the Sacramento clinic, full-time.
- 4Comfort with taking vital signs and rooming patients.
- 5Bilingual Spanish preferred for patient-facing interactions.
