Medical Insurance Verification Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Insurance Verification Specialist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage, obtaining prior authorizations, and ensuring all medical billing and coding procedures align with current healthcare policies. What You'll Do10
- 1Verify patient insurance coverage accurately by reviewing health insurance policies and electronic health records (EHR) systems
- 2Obtain insurance prior authorization for orthopedic braces and post-mastectomy products
- 3Review and interpret medical documentation including CPT codes, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding to ensure proper billing
- 4Communicate effectively with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients to resolve coverage issues or discrepancies
- 5Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and ensure clinical confidentiality policies are followed
- 6Utilize Microsoft Office tools and EMR/EHR systems to document verification activities, update medical records, and generate reports
- 7Assist with medical billing processes by ensuring accurate coding and documentation for claims submission
- 8Experience prior experience working in a medical office or healthcare environment is preferred
- 9Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding, and medical records management is highly desirable
- 10Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel to support administrative tasks related to verification activities
