Medical Biller, Medical Supply & Insurance Claims
Overview
You will own the end-to-end billing cycle for medical supply claims, processing Medicaid and Medicare reimbursements at a high-volume Detroit clinic. You will work directly with patients, physicians' offices, and hospitals to collect records and resolve billing errors. This contract role offers performance-based bonuses and a clear path to full-time employment. You will bring precision to every claim and keep patient data confidential.
What You'll Do7
- 1Process insurance claims for Medicaid and Medicare, ensuring each submission is complete and accurate.
- 2Collect and file all necessary forms, signatures, and documentation from patients and providers.
- 3Verify patient billing information with doctors' offices and hospitals to capture correct charge codes.
- 4Enter billing and payment data into the system with zero errors, flagging discrepancies immediately.
- 5Follow up on unpaid claims and client inquiries to drive timely resolution.
- 6Answer phone calls, screen leads, and direct billing questions to the right team member.
- 7Maintain strict confidentiality of patient records and billing details.
Requirements6
- 11+ years of medical billing or coding experience, preferably in a clinical setting.
- 2Hands-on experience with Medicaid and Medicare claim submission and follow-up.
- 3Strong customer service skills for phone-based patient and provider communication.
- 4Exceptional attention to detail for accurate data entry and claim audits.
- 5Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding is a plus.
- 6Ability to work onsite in Detroit and commit to a part-time schedule initially.
