Mechanic Assistant, Mining Equipment Repair
Overview
You will assist experienced mechanics in repairing and maintaining mining equipment, including gearboxes, sprockets, and hydraulic components. You will work in the Repair Operations team, supporting the shop maintenance and equipment rebuild department. Your work will directly impact equipment uptime for a global mining equipment manufacturer. What You'll Do5
- 1Assist an experienced mechanic with repair and maintenance of mining equipment, including gearboxes, sprockets, and hydraulic components.
- 2Clean parts, perform equipment teardowns, and prepare components for inspection and assembly.
- 3Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment safely and effectively.
- 4Maintain basic work logs and support shop organization and safety initiatives.
- 5Operate forklifts and overhead lifting equipment to move materials and equipment.
Requirements5
- 1Mechanical aptitude and interest in equipment repair and maintenance.
- 2Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments preferred.
- 3Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment.
- 4Previous forklift experience preferred; training and certification provided.
- 5Valid driver's license and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
