Overview
Material Management Clerk at Central Distribution offers a per diem 8 hour rotating shift (non-exempt) position at USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. Employees will own inventory accuracy and logistics across high‑volume medical supply environments. This role drives efficient stocking, delivery, and compliance while supporting multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
What You'll Do11
- 1Replenish supply locations accurately by stocking supplies in appropriate bins
- 2Complete all replenishment and deliveries according to department procedures
- 3Set up crash carts on each shift and maintain a minimum of five available units
- 4Inspect shipments for damages and record findings on the bill of lading
- 5Coordinate outgoing freight and label, weigh, and prepare bills of lading
- 6Receive, record, and deliver priority freight and refrigerated/frozen items within specified timeframes
- 7Follow safety protocols while operating facility equipment such as carts and pallet jacks
- 8Maintain clean supply locations and remove empty boxes each shift
- 9Assist with inventory counts at designated supply locations during designated shifts
- 10Compile and batch patient charges before shift end and submit via interoffice mail
- 11Respond to emergencies like code blues by delivering crash carts promptly
Requirements10
- 15+ years experience in Materials Management shipping or central supply distribution
- 2High school diploma or equivalent
- 3Proficiency with Spark and Airflow for ETL pipeline development
- 4Ability to operate manual and battery‑powered pallet jacks and hand trucks
- 5Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and medical supply classification
- 6Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 7Reliable work ethic and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately
- 8Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) or equivalent certification
- 9Basic computer literacy with proficiency in inventory management systems
- 10Experience with WMS platforms and HIPAA compliance procedures
