Manufacturing Engineer II Senior, Assembly & Integration at Antares
Overview
Own manufacturing process development for major reactor assemblies and subsystems at scale from engineering release through final integration. Work with design, quality, supply chain, and other teams to ensure manufacturability and testability while defining build processes and tooling for R1 reactor production. Lead on-site efforts at Antares Prime to launch production with a culture of technical rigor and continuous improvement. This role blends hands-on floor work with cross functional leadership in a highly technical, regulated environment.
What You'll Do10
- 1Own manufacturing process development from engineering release through build, inspection, test, and final integration for major reactor assemblies
- 2Develop detailed assembly and manufacturing process flows and shop floor layouts
- 3Partner with mechanical, electrical, nuclear, systems, materials, quality, and test engineers to ensure designs are manufacturable and testable
- 4Develop and mature tooling, fixtures, handling equipment, and specialized manufacturing equipment
- 5Establish robust processes for first of a kind hardware balancing prototype needs with scalable production requirements
- 6Collaborate with technicians and operators on the floor to troubleshoot issues and implement process improvements
- 7Maintain manufacturing bills of material and process plans with configuration controlled documentation
- 8Participate in manufacturing readiness reviews, design reviews, production readiness reviews, and hardware build reviews
- 9Mentor junior and mid level engineers fostering ownership and continuous improvement
- 10Drive cross functional collaboration to transition from prototype to repeated production in a regulated setting
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Aerospace, Nuclear, or related engineering discipline
- 22+ years of experience developing and implementing manufacturing processes for complex hardware
- 3Experience taking hardware from engineering design through prototype, development, qualification, and production
- 4Experience creating manufacturing documentation including work instructions, process specifications, assembly procedures, inspection plans, and test procedures
- 5Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, engineering drawings, and configuration management
- 6Experience working with technicians, machinists, fabricators, inspectors, and production personnel
- 7Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing problems on the floor and drive root cause, corrective action, and process improvement
- 8Strong understanding of DFM DFA principles and ability to influence design decisions
- 9Experience developing or implementing manufacturing tooling, fixtures, and specialized equipment
- 10Ability to operate independently in a fast paced, highly technical, and ambiguous environment
