Overview

Antares is building mass-producible, inherently safe, deployable microreactors for terrestrial, underwater, and space use, supported by over $600M in venture capital and contracts with the U.S. military, NASA, and the Department of Energy. As International Business Development Manager, you own the full international business-development lifecycle, from identifying customers and shaping market-entry strategies to building government partnerships and closing commercial agreements. You will engage national governments, defense and energy ministries, regulators, utilities, and private companies across global markets. Working directly with the Chief Nuclear Officer and other leadership, you will navigate complex opportunities from initial evaluation through negotiation and deal closure. This role demands a systems thinker who can translate technical, regulatory, and financial complexities into actionable business strategies.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Build and manage an international opportunity pipeline, evaluating and updating prospective priority markets to recommend where Antares should focus.
  • 2Develop market-entry strategies that account for customer needs, government priorities, regulatory pathways, financing requirements, local partnerships, and competitive dynamics.
  • 3Build and maintain relationships with national governments, defense and energy ministries, utilities, prime contractors, and private companies as prospective partners and customers.
  • 4Coordinate proposals, customer presentations, partnership structures, commercial agreements, financing approaches, and regulatory strategies across the business-development process.
  • 5Support the Chief Nuclear Officer and other leaders through customer engagement, negotiations, and deal closure.
  • 6Represent Antares at customer meetings, government engagements, and industry events, briefing leadership on takeaways and follow-up actions.
  • 7Monitor market, policy, procurement, regulatory, and financing developments and translate them into actionable recommendations.
  • 8Collaborate with engineering, finance, regulatory, policy, and program teams to align international opportunities with Antares' technical capabilities and strategic objectives.

Requirements10

  • 1Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience with international governments, international customers, or business development, preferably in energy or defense.
  • 2Demonstrated ability to build relationships across government and commercial stakeholders and advance complex, multi-party opportunities.
  • 3Experience with government agreements, regulatory strategy, project financing, and international market-entry planning.
  • 4Proven track record supporting senior executives through complex negotiations and government engagements.
  • 5Strong writing and analytical skills to produce concise, decision-ready recommendations.
  • 6Valid passport and ability to travel up to 25%, including international travel.
  • 7Ability to work long hours and weekends as needed for critical milestones.
  • 8Ability to work from Antares' Washington, DC office.
  • 9Preferred: MBA or master's degree in international affairs or national security studies.
  • 10Preferred: Foreign-language proficiency.
