Maintenance Technician I, Industrial Equipment Repair
Overview
You will own preventive maintenance and repair for manufacturing systems at Reddy Ice's Raleigh plant. You will troubleshoot equipment, perform root cause analysis, and handle facility repairs. Working with plant operations and under the Operations Manager, you will support a continuous improvement culture using Kaizen and VSM. This role suits an apprentice-level technician ready to advance their skills with PLC and refrigeration systems.
What You'll Do10
- 1Monitor all equipment daily and identify early signs of failure.
- 2Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning production equipment.
- 3Conduct preventive maintenance on conveyors, compressors, and ammonia systems.
- 4Read blueprints and schematics to guide repairs.
- 5Test ice quality by inspecting clarity, cube size, and hole space.
- 6Perform minor facility repairs, including lighting and painting.
- 7Document work using CMMS and complete safety checklists.
- 8Collaborate with operations to reduce downtime and drive improvement.
- 9Support bagging operations when production requires.
- 10Maintain high safety standards and comply with plant procedures.
Requirements8
- 12-4 years of industrial maintenance experience required; 4+ years preferred.
- 2High school diploma or GED required.
- 3One of: PLC Certification, Journeyman License, Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator, Certified Maintenance Technician Level III, or CMRT preferred.
- 4Ability to read and interpret safety rules and technical manuals.
- 5Experience with electrical and mechanical systems, 1+ year preferred.
- 6Capable of lifting 45+ lbs and working in varying temperatures.
- 7Willing to work nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- 8Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment without using that phrase.
