Maintenance Technician Handyman - San Francisco | FHAR
Overview
As the Maintenance Technician, you'll own repairs and preventive care across 16 residential homes, a 6-unit apartment complex, and two commercial buildings. You'll travel between properties, respond to work orders, and keep every site safe and functional. This role combines hands-on trade work with independent decision-making and direct coordination with vendors. You'll join a stable non-profit that values respect and offers 100% agency-paid benefits.
What You'll Do6
- 1Complete routine repairs in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general building maintenance across multiple sites.
- 2Perform preventive maintenance and inspections, including filter changes, lubrication, tightening, cleaning, and minor adjustments.
- 3Respond to work orders, document completed tasks, and communicate updates to the operations manager.
- 4Install or replace fixtures, appliances, locks, doors, and hardware.
- 5Coordinate with vendors and contractors, overseeing on-site work as needed.
- 6Perform light groundskeeping, debris removal, and exterior maintenance.
Requirements10
- 1Proven experience as a handyman, maintenance technician, or similar role.
- 2Strong working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems.
- 3Ability to diagnose issues and complete repairs independently.
- 4Must have own tools. A company truck will be provided.
- 5Valid and clear driver's license and DOJ Clearance.
- 6Strong communication and customer service skills.
- 7Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks safely.
- 8Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols.
- 9Experience in property management or multi-facility maintenance preferred.
- 10Certifications in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related trades preferred.
