Mainframe Software Engineer, COBOL & JCL
Overview
You will own development and support for Recall and Software FSA applications on the mainframe, including on-call production support. You will join the FCSDTech/Service Quality team, collaborating with cross-functional groups to modernize legacy systems. This role demands deep expertise in COBOL and JCL, with direct impact on critical business functions. You will drive defect resolution and feature enhancements from day one.
What You'll Do5
- 1Develop and enhance Mainframe applications using COBOL and JCL within your first 90 days.
- 2Provide production support and on-call rotation, resolving incidents and restoring service.
- 3Debug and fix defects in existing COBOL code, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- 4Modernize legacy components, converting COBOL to newer frameworks where applicable.
- 5Collaborate with team members to document technical solutions and maintain runbooks.
Requirements6
- 15+ years of experience in Mainframe development with COBOL and JCL.
- 25+ years of experience in production support and on-call duties for Mainframe systems.
- 33+ years of experience with VSAM, CICS, and DB2 for data management.
- 42+ years of experience with Changeman or Endevor for version control.
- 52+ years of experience with File-AID and Abend-AID for debugging.
- 61+ years of experience with COBOL modernization or cloud migration projects.
Salary Insight
$60 - $70k per year
