Lymphedema Therapist - Cowden Center
Overview
The Lymphedema Therapist at Cowden Center will lead the evaluation and delivery of evidence based occupational or physical therapy services for lymphedema patients. This role focuses on preventing dysfunction and restoring function to improve daily living skills. The ideal candidate will collaborate with families and physicians to create personalized care plans.
What You'll Do9
- 1Implement individualized treatment plans using skilled therapy techniques such as therapeutic activities and modalities
- 2Provide verbal and written instructions to patients and caregivers
- 3Evaluate patients according to department operation policy
- 4Maintain accurate documentation including evaluations and discharge summaries
- 5Supervise the Lymphedema Therapy Services Assistant and therapist assistants
- 6Consult with physicians and medical personnel regarding patient status
- 7Assess patient response to treatment and adjust plans accordingly
- 8Participate in departmental in-service programs and utilization review processes
- 9Stay current with continuing education and regulatory requirements
Requirements6
- 1Master's Degree in Physical Therapy or Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from accredited institutions
- 21 year of direct lymphedema management experience
- 3Basic Life Support certification
- 4LANA Lymphedema Therapy Certification
- 5Rehabilitation APTA Occupational Therapy license
- 6Rehabilitation APTA Physical Therapy license
