LVN Staff Nurse Job in Los Angeles, CA | Vernon Healthcare Center
Overview
You will deliver direct nursing care to residents in a long-term care setting under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will own medication administration, treatment completion, and care documentation at Vernon Healthcare Center. You will work with CNAs and other nurses to maintain high standards of care while adhering to HIPAA and state regulations. This role offers the chance to assume charge responsibilities after orientation and participate in QA programs. Your clinical skills and judgment will directly impact resident well-being.
What You'll Do10
- 1Admit, transfer, and discharge residents following facility policies.
- 2Conduct daily rounds to assess residents' physical and emotional status.
- 3Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians within your scope of practice.
- 4Document resident observations, interventions, and responses in the medical record accurately and timely.
- 5Communicate significant changes in resident condition to the RN supervisor and physician.
- 6Transcribe physician orders and verify accuracy after each shift.
- 7Supervise CNAs and review assignments to ensure appropriate care delivery.
- 8Initiate emergency procedures, including CPR, when needed.
- 9Participate in facility meetings and care conferences to coordinate resident care.
- 10Foster a professional environment by treating residents and families with dignity and respect.
Requirements9
- 1Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or an approved LVN program.
- 2Current nursing licensure in good standing with the State board.
- 3Valid CPR certification.
- 41+ years of nursing experience in a long-term care setting.
- 5Strong communication and organizational skills.
- 6Comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles and practices for geriatric care.
- 7Ability to identify and report problems using initiative and judgment.
- 8Proficiency in English with minimal to no difficulty speaking, reading, and writing.
- 9Willingness to work with professional and non-professional personnel.
