Lube Technician, School District Transportation & Fleet Support
Overview
The role owns preventive maintenance and minor repairs for gas, natural gas, and diesel engines across district fleets at scale. You’ll work closely with a lead mechanic and the fleet maintenance supervisor to keep buses and district vehicles safe and reliable. Responsibilities include routine vehicle care, fuel and fluid management, parts coordination, and occasional bus driving or pre-trip inspections. What You'll Do10
- 1Build and perform minor preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles under direction of lead mechanic
- 2Inspect interiors and exteriors of buses and prepare vehicles for long distance travel
- 3Wash, clean and maintain district vehicles and fuel islands
- 4PICK up and deliver parts and equipment for Transportation Maintenance and Operations
- 5Assist with fleet registration, insurance, inventory, emissions and warranty reports
- 6Serve as a reserve bus driver including pre-trip inspections and student safety
- 7Prepare incident documents and maintain safety and discipline during transport
- 8Verify orders and coordinate parts with vendors and staff
- 9Maintain fuel, fluids and tire conditions for district vehicles
- 10Perform other duties as assigned of a similar nature or level
Requirements5
- 1High School diploma or equivalent G.E.D
- 2One year of school transportation experience
- 3Arizona CDL with passenger endorsement within sixty days of hire
- 4Preferred: two years of mechanic experience
- 5Preferred: one year of vehicle detail experience
