Lot Assistant, Auto Auction Operations
Overview
You'll own yard operations at a 200-acre auto auction, moving 500+ vehicles daily through check-in, inspection, and sale line. You'll join a team of 50+ lot staff and coordinators, reporting to the Lot Manager. This role puts you hands-on with ADESA's auction tech stack, including mobile scanners and inventory systems. You'll be the linchpin between shops and sales, ensuring every vehicle hits the block on time.
What You'll Do9
- 1Move vehicles between lot zones and shops using gas dollies and jump packs, tagging each with RFID numbers.
- 2Scan VINs with handheld scanners to update inventory systems in real time.
- 3Coordinate with shop foremen and sales coordinators to route vehicles through check-in to the sale lane.
- 4Flag vehicles with final stickers and mark windshield numbers before auction day.
- 5Photograph vehicles using tablets and upload to auction management software.
- 6Track missing units in the lot and reconcile with inventory reports.
- 7Verify mileage and VIN accuracy during pre-sale checks.
- 8Restock arbitrated units and update vehicle announcements in the system.
- 9Diagnose basic vehicle issues and route to mechanic shop as needed.
Requirements7
- 11+ year in auto auctions or dealership operations.
- 2HS diploma or GED preferred.
- 3Valid driver's license with clean record.
- 4Ability to drive manual and automatic vehicles.
- 5Proficiency with Windows PCs and inventory databases.
- 6Comfortable standing/walking 8+ hours in outdoor weather.
- 718+ years old with reliable transportation.
