Overview
You will own litigation support for a boutique New York firm, managing case files and drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs for estate and elder law matters. You will work directly with attorneys in a modern office setting, preparing for trials, hearings, and mediations. This part-time role offers a flexible schedule and free parking, ideal for a mature, tech-savvy professional with 3+ years of law firm experience.
What You'll Do7
- 1Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs for estate and elder law litigation within your first 90 days.
- 2Conduct legal research using Westlaw and LexisNexis to support case strategy.
- 3Prepare trial binders and exhibit lists for upcoming hearings and mediations.
- 4Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are indexed and up-to-date.
- 5Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions and witness interviews.
- 6Coordinate discovery requests and responses, tracking deadlines and production.
- 7Manage calendar deadlines for court filings and appearances.
Requirements6
- 13+ years working in a law firm, with a focus on litigation.
- 2Strong knowledge of the litigation process, including pleadings, motions, and discovery.
- 3Experience drafting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- 4Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software.
- 5Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- 6Tech savvy and mature, able to work independently in a modern office setting.
