Licensed Practical Nurse RN, Addiction Treatment & Detox
Overview
Licensed Practical Nurse RN role supporting patients in addiction treatment and detox. You will assess, monitor, and educate clients within a multidisciplinary team at our West Loop and surrounding locations. Work with a Nurse Supervisor to deliver care according to physician orders and established protocols. This role emphasizes integrity, professional conduct, and compassionate patient interactions.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and implement nursing care plans according to physician orders and protocols
- 2Assess patients and document vital signs, treatments, and medication administration
- 3Monitor for adverse reactions and maintain patient safety during self administration of medications
- 4Direct and supervise nursing care provided by other staff in selected situations
- 5Provide patient/family education and support to caregivers and patients
- 6Initiate emergency measures when needed and participate in safety protocols
- 7Perform initial health screenings and document findings for care planning
- 8Maintain unit supplies, equipment, and environment to support care delivery
- 9Serve as a preceptor for new staff and participate in staff education
- 10Contribute to development and evaluation of standards of care and unit objectives
Requirements10
- 1Must hold a current, unencumbered LPN license in the state of Illinois
- 2Ability to work rotating shifts, including holidays and weekends
- 3Capability to lift and move at least 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- 4Strong reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension of English
- 5Demonstrated professional integrity when caring for patients with acute withdrawal and mental health needs
- 6Ability to make independent decisions when necessary and communicate effectively with the team
- 7Commitment to protecting patient confidentiality and following licensure requirements
- 8Experience in detox or addiction treatment settings is preferred
- 9Willingness to participate in ongoing education and staff development
- 10Physically able to be in good general health and move intermittently throughout the day
