Level 2 Generator Technician at Diversified Power Systems
Overview
We seek a skilled Level 2 Generator Field Service Technician to join our Dallas based emergency standby generator maintenance team. The ideal candidate will provide independent high level mechanical expertise performing preventative maintenance and complex repairs on diverse generator models. This role offers career stability and meaningful work while contributing to our family owned legacy since 1997.
What You'll Do13
- 1Perform preventative maintenance on generator units
- 2Repair and service all makes and models of generator sets
- 3Inspect and test load bank systems and start-up procedures
- 4Troubleshoot components including alternators wiring harnesses safety devices and battery systems
- 5Apply engine technical skills in inspection failure analysis assembly diagnosis and operating performance tests
- 6Identify root causes through logical troubleshooting steps and determine corrective actions
- 7Service engines such as Cummins Detroit Diesel John Deere MTU and Volvo
- 8Troubleshoot switchgear and automatic transfer switches
- 9Provide 7x24 on call services as required
- 10Maintain company issued equipment tools and instruments
- 11Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure work meets company standards
- 12Provide technical support to customers upon request
- 13Cross train in other areas as needed
Requirements14
- 1Minimum 3 years of experience with diesel and/or natural gas engines generators and automatic transfer switches
- 2High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3Industry training certification in multiple makes/models
- 4Valid driver license
- 5Pass a physical and drug screening
- 6Own personal tools
- 7Knowledge of OEM equipment and proficiency in troubleshooting
- 8Advanced mechanical principles and mathematics skills
- 9Ability to read blueprints schematics and manuals
- 10Proficiency in electrical diagnostics
- 11Computer skills including basic operation iPhone and tablet use
- 12Understanding of electronic controls like PLCs Murphy panels Altronic and ESM
- 13Proficiency with precision measuring tools
- 14Physical ability to lift 50lbs climb vehicles drive trailers operate ladders and kneel bend twist and reach
