Legal Recruitment Manager - Law Student & Summer Associate Hiring
Overview
Lead law student and judicial clerk recruiting for the Washington, D.C. office of an international law firm, owning the full cycle from outreach to offer decisions. You will manage the summer associate program, build law school relationships, and drive data-informed hiring strategies. Supervise a team of coordinators, ensuring consistent practices and strong client service. This role offers the chance to shape talent acquisition at a global firm with a competitive salary range of $144.7k-$180.9k.
What You'll Do6
- 1Lead law student and judicial clerk recruiting for the D.C. office, including outreach, interviews, candidate communications, offers, and hiring committee support.
- 2Design and manage the summer associate program, covering orientation, work assignments, mentoring, programming, evaluations, and offer decisions.
- 3Develop relationships with law schools, career services offices, and student groups to boost firm visibility and meet hiring goals.
- 4Track and analyze recruiting data, prepare internal and external reports, and evaluate post-season results to improve future efforts.
- 5Supervise, train, and develop recruiting coordinators and assistants, promoting consistent practices and strong client service.
- 6Provide local coordination and administrative support for lateral associate and partner hiring, onboarding, integration, and due diligence processes.
Requirements6
- 15+ years of relevant legal recruiting, personnel, or recruitment experience, including at least 2 years of management experience.
- 2Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3Demonstrated experience managing law student recruiting and summer associate programs within a law firm or professional services environment.
- 4Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with attorneys, candidates, law schools, and internal teams.
- 5Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- 6Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint preferred; experience with LawCruit, viDesktop, WebEx, or Flo Recruit is a plus.
